WE'VE SEEN EVERY STAGE.
WE KNOW WHAT WORKS.

01

Honest Consultation

We don't avoid the conversation. Your barber will assess where your hairline is, how your hair is distributing, and what's actually achievable — then tell you the truth about what works and what doesn't. No upsells. No false promises.

02

Strategic Cutting

Thinning and receding hair respond differently to length, fade depth, and texture. A cut that works for someone with thick hair can make thin hair look worse. We know how to use contrast, proportion, and shape to create density and define a clean silhouette — whatever your situation.

03

Confidence, Not Concealment

The goal isn't to fool anyone. It's to look sharp and intentional — like a man who owns his look rather than one who's fighting it. That's a completely different outcome, and the right cut gets you there.

"He not only talked with me about what I wanted throughout the experience, but educated me about what he was doing and about my hair. Very different from the usual experience." — Ethan G., Google Review

HAIRCUTS FOR THINNING
& RECEDING HAIR.

There's no one-size-fits-all answer — it depends on how much hair you have, where it's thinning, and what your face shape can carry. Here's how we think about it.

Receding Hairline

A receding hairline looks worse when you try to compensate for it with extra length or a comb-over. It looks better when the cut embraces it. Shorter styles with a skin or low fade, a defined edge, and clean lines on top turn the hairline into part of the look instead of something you're fighting. The goal is a silhouette that reads as a choice.

Thinning on Top

Thinning hair on top needs two things: less length and more texture. Length makes thin hair look flat and sparse. A shorter textured crop creates the illusion of density by giving each strand something to work against. We cut to maximize what's there, not mourn what isn't.

Both at Once

Receding and thinning together is where most barbers give up and default to "just buzz it." That's sometimes the right call — but not always. Depending on your face shape and remaining density, there are still structured cuts that look intentional and masculine without going all the way down. We'll tell you which applies to you.

WHAT MAKES THINNING
HAIR LOOK WORSE.

Most men with thinning or receding hair aren't making it worse on purpose — they're just doing what seems logical. Here's what we see all the time, and why it backfires.

Keeping It Long to Cover

Long hair over a thinning crown emphasizes what isn't there. It looks flat on top and draws the eye exactly where you don't want it. Shorter, textured cuts create the appearance of volume that length can't fake.

The Combover

Everyone knows what a combover is covering. A clean, confident short cut with a fade communicates control. A combover communicates the opposite — even when it's subtle.

Avoiding the Barber

Letting hair grow out because you dread the chair makes everything harder to work with. Regular cuts — every 4–6 weeks for shorter styles — keep the shape clean and give your barber more to work with.

Guessing at Home

Clippers at home on thinning hair are a fast way to make an uneven situation look worse. One off line on a receding hairline and there's no going back until it grows out. Come in and let us handle it right.
